It was a really cool farm and it was pretty busy with lots of little families getting pumpkins. It was fun to watch everyone decide on which pumpkin was "the one" and even more fun to watch them load up their wheel barrows and make the long trek back to the barn in the mud (it has been very rainy over here!)Some of the guys were demonstrating how to make apple cider. There was also a live country band (banjo and all) that we got to sit and listen too. While we listened we drank hot apple cider and munched on homemade doughnuts. I had a lot of fun!
Here is my pumpkin
And here is Brandon's pumpkin
...and even more fun carving them.
Now we need your help. We thought it might be fun to have a friendly carving competition. Best pumpkin carving wins. (I don't think we ever settled on a prize...but I was thinking loser gets dish duty for a week!) So vote for your favorite and then we will let you know who did which one: bat or spider.

I vote for the bat, though both are really good! It looks like lots of fun. We picked our pumpkins at the Harmon's Pumpkin patch. (conveniently located right in front of the grocery store)
I really don't know which one I like better. They are both pretty cool. I'm going to say the spider because those skinny legs would be way hard to carve and not break! Good luck. :)
I was thinking of the bat at first, but the more I looked at the spider, the more it looked like a blood-shot eye...which I thought was pretty cool. So the spider/eye gets my vote
Wow those are some impressive pumpkin carving skills! Both are pretty darn good, but my vote goes with the bat! Happy Halloween!
So fun! I love Halloween traditions! I vote for the bat. :)
Hmm, I vote for the bat. It is nice to see what you have been up to.
Bat
So fun! I wish we had a pumpkin patch to go to here. One more reason we should move back to McChord. Those pumpkin carvings are very impressive, and I have no idea which of you carved which one, so kudos to you Brandon for keeping up with Karen. I didn't know you had such talents. Hmmm . . . now which one to vote for . . . I'm thinking the bat . . . no the spider . . . no the bat, yeah the bat. Touch decision though. I hope you have a Happy Halloween.
So we might be a day late, but we still want to vote. It was a tough decision, and multiple people changed their minds numberous times, but....Aubrielle votes for the bat, Benson votes for the bat, Camron votes for bat, and Angela votes for the spider. (Jaycie and Kimball were asleep during the voting). Very impressive though, way to go!
Tyler and Chelsie both vote for the bat.
Batman is very big at our house so I have to vote for the bat. Happy belated Halloween.
I vote for the underdog, THE SPIDER!!!
